Shell and Leather Collection

Findings and wire are lead-free. Length does not include finding length. I cut and knot and drill everything. And special orders are available.

Of the images shown, the one that best represents the Yurok Indian tribe design is this image. These are medium shells cut from an abalone with deerskin lacings woven through three drilled holes. Three beads are strung onto each lace.  I have taken it a bit farther because I have so many beautiful shells and colors of deerskin lace. The earrings at tradition length gently swing near the shoulders. I make them sometimes shorter, and sometimes "fluffier" - with leather strung through 5 holes. The traditional shell is about 1.5-2" diameter, while the small is 1." The large colorful abalone is a good 3."
