Foil,

lampworked

beads

and more

Some earrings use foil in their production to make foil worked beads. The foil is on the bottom layer and can be multiple colored. It is encased in glass, which can be any color clear. Additional glasswork embellishment can be then worked as an uppermost layer. Some beads' glass has been manipulated while hot to create designs. This can take a number of forms, including transparent and opaque parts of the bead, or a variety of patterns swirled within. The blue wave earring in the collection is one of a kind, and a good example of a lampworked bead.
